About This Activity
Homes that have good defensible space are more likely to survive wildfire than homes that don’t. You can create defensible space around your own home, in common areas of your neighborhood or help other people in your community who have difficulty performing the work themselves. Some communities have established organizations who train and employ youth to help with fuel reduction projects.
Learn more about defensible space, the home ignition zone, and opportunities to reduce the vulnerabilities around your home and neighborhood before fire season.
